Paynesville Australia Day Celebrations
and Awards Ceremony
Thursday 26 January 2012 will be a special day for Paynesville. As the feature location for the 2012 Australia Day festivities, the region's Citizenship Ceremony and Awards Ceremonies will be held at the beautiful foreshore location near Paynesville's Progress Jetty. With local musicians and a selection of breakfast treats starting at 7.30am, we welcome you to join us for a wonderful morning of activities for both adults and children alike.
An address by the East Gippsland Shire's Australia Day Ambassador, Mr Vedran Drauklic, will lead into the ceremonies for East Gippsland and for Paynesville during which we will welcome our newest citizens to the region. We will also then acknowledge our community achievers with awards for Citizen, Young Citizen and Community Event of the Year.
For the kids there'll be face painting, chalk drawing and a best decorated bike competition.
Come share in a Birthday Cake for the 26'ers, a unique group of people who will join us to celebrate this special Australia Day.
